Illinois Basketball: Illini-Duke date officially set

By Zain Bando

Even though the Illinois basketball team’s schedule isn’t finalized, there is something to get excited about with just under a month to go before the 2020-2021 season is set to begin. According to a tweet from college basketball insider Jon Rothstein, and later confirmed by UI Athletics, Duke will host Illinois as part of the Big Ten/ACC Challenge Dec. 8

This game will likely be a top-10 match-up by the time the season rolls around, as an old Chicago Public League rivalry will be renewed between Adam Miller (Morgan Park) and DJ Steward (Whitney Young), who will begin their freshman seasons for the Illini and Duke respectively. The countdown to tip-off has officially begun.

Illini Sports Night and UI 7 Live will have more as the story develops.
