Illinois Basketball: Ayo Dosunmu receives NBA Combine invite

By Zain Bando

Ayo Dosunmu has been a staple of the Illinois basketball program, providing fans with some of the best moments in recent memory.

According to multiple reports, Dosunmu has been invited to the NBA Draft Combine, making his chances of returning to Champaign for a third season slim.

During his time in the Orange and Blue, the Morgan Park alum helped Illinois improve drastically, putting them on the doorstep of an NCAA tournament berth, along with finishing near the top of the Big Ten conference standings in just his second year.

Ayo Dosunmu confirmed on Twitter that he has been invited to the NBA Draft Combine.

The story is still developing, but it’s safe to say that Dosunmu’s time in Champaign is over, as he announced that he was pursuing the NBA in April in an Instagram video. August 3 is the final day that NBA hopefuls can return to campus, as his teammate, Kofi Cockburn, also received an invite.
