Although the fighting Illini took a big loss to the Wisconsin Badgers during homecoming weekend. There was still a lot of fun to have out at the tailgate and being able to talk to some of the Alumni that came out to support their old team was some of the fun. Going out and talking to some of the Alumni from previous years was a very eye-opening experience as someone who is about to graduate in about 7 months. Something that will stay with me is the enthusiasm that the Alumni have for their team. But most importantly what made this homecoming special for most of them was the opportunity to finally see some old friends and acquaintances again. Especially since last year, homecoming was canceled due to the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
