Roger Ebert’s Film Festival, originally scheduled to occur next April, has been moved to September of next year our of caution for the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The new date for the event will be September 8 through 11 at the Virginia Theatre.
Founded in 1999, the film festival celebrates films that may have been overlooked by audiences and critics when they first released. It gives the opportunity for directors, actors, producers and musicians to represent their work to the public. Due to the cancellation of the festival this past spring, Ebertfest hosted a number of online events in place of the public gathering and plan to hold more throughout the rest of the year.
Tickets and passes will go on sale January 4 and passes from this year’s festival can be used for the 2021 event as well.
