13 Illinois Counties Still Uninfected

By Connor Ciecko

Urbana, Ill – As of today, only 13 counties in Illinois are not reporting any cases of COVID-19.  Spread throughout the state, these include Alexander, Brown, Cass, Edgar, Edwards, Hamilton, Hardin, Pope, Putnam, Scott, Wayne and White Counties.

In an effort to continue to flatten the curve, dog parks in Champaign and Urbana will be closing until further notice.  Champaign County has 90 reported cases at this time.  Of this 90, 48 have recovered, 40 are currently infected with the virus and two have died.  Across the state there are 24,593 confirmed cases and 948 deaths.

The CDC is now recommending wearing cloth masks in public settings in addition to maintaining social distancing measures.  Face masks should fit snugly but comfortably, include multiple layers of fabric, and be machine washable without taking damage.  Instructions on how to make your own are available at the CDC website.
